bodywork

Schedule time for yourself to feel good in a natural way. Massage is a luxury to some, but to many considered a form of alternative medicine that promotes continual health care maintenance. Improving circulation, stretching tissue and increasing range of motion is primary to massage but an emotional release is also a hidden benefit in the process of letting go of psychological rigidity and relaxing into life.

Paula specializes in releasing a variety of conditions that may include:

  • Headaches
  • Old injuries
  • Back/neck pain
  • Scoliosis
  • Stress-related disorders
  • General muscle tension

The styles of bodywork she uses during her sessions are:

Myofascial Release A deep connective tissue massage using deep pressure lengthening along the muscle belly. Beneficial for old injuries.

Cranial Sacral Therapy Light touch to the sacrum, spine and cranium which deeply relaxes the nervous system. Beneficial for headaches, restoring the immune system and deep relaxation.

Thai Massage Pointed pressure given to points along meridian lines all over the body incorporating yoga type stretching into the massage. Opens energy pathways in the body. Beneficial for athletes, improves flexibility and at the same time is relaxing.

Swedish Massage Most common form of massage, relaxes the muscles and eases aches and pains.

Shiatsu Japanese acupressure massage that restores energy to the body.

An evaluation is done to determine your needs and to select the style of bodywork best suited to meet them. The client may also choose which style they prefer and may use a combination of yoga postures with bodywork as well. Sessions are one hour and are made by scheduling an appointment with Paula.
