Paula's Personal Yoga Philosophy As an athlete, I had many injuries through the years. When I started practicing yoga, it made my body feel better. My body felt like it was healing. I also felt like there was some spiritual aspect to the yoga practice, but couldn't put my finger on how it was happening. Over time, an inner awareness developed and I was able to observe how I was responding in life. It challenged me to actually listen to what my body needed rather that what I wanted. This was happening at all levels of my being, not just the physical aspects. Through the practice of yoga, I have grown to respect myself and nurture the intuitive nature of my heart. We are all born with a light in our soul. When we can see that light, we feel good about ourselves, worthwhile and connected. We are able to give to others and know that our presence makes a contribution in the world. I think yoga can be used as a medicine. My intent is for you to use that medicine as a way to see your light and feel worthwhile. I want you to deepen your capacity to stay focused in the present moment and listen from your heart. Open the space inside yourself and let your life force flow! Yoga Biography I love yoga and have been studying since 1976. My concentration has been in the areas of asana and yoga psychology. I continue to study with senior international teachers within the lineage of Krishnmacharya. My interest in therapeutic yoga is complimented by my background in rehabilitation, working in the physical therapy field for 10 years. As a psychotherapist, I use yoga philosophy to facilitate people's development of a stronger relationship with themselves as it relates to vitality and well-being. Highlights
